marche de la liberté au Mississippi avec Martin
Luther King et il a également manifesté avec
lui dans les rues de Chicago.
En 1967, sa carrière en journalisme a débuté au
Globe and Mail où il a passé 20 ans en tant que
chroniqueur puis journaliste. Il fut en poste
successivement à Toronto, à Montréal, à la
Galerie de la presse à Ottawa, à la Tribune de la
presse de l' Assemblée nationale du Québec, et
comme chef de bureau à Washington.
En 1998 où il est devenu président de
l'associations des droits de langue anglaise
Alliance Québec, un poste qu'il a occupé
pendant deux années. Il est alors devenu un
chroniqueur régulier pour The Globe and Mail
en juin 2000, jusqu'à novembre 2003.
En 2005, il a publié le livre: Stephen Harper et le
futur du Canada (McClelland &Stewart).
Il est encore un membre de la Galerie
parlementaire à Ottawa et il habite à Gatineau
au Québec en compagnie de son épouse Carol.
